Practical, independent guides for life in Ireland Homes, energy grants and everyday costs in plain English
Vengie is a free Irish consumer guide covering homes, SEAI grants, energy costs and everyday expenses. We aim to keep things straightforward, Ireland-specific, and genuinely useful. Written for people who just want a clear answer without the spin.
Written independently
We aim to keep this site free from commercial influence. Where we link to external sites or services, those links are included for your convenience, not as paid placements.
Ireland-specific only
We focus on Irish prices, Irish law and Irish grants. Everything on this site is written with Ireland in mind from the start, rather than adapting generic content for an Irish audience.
Referenced where we can
We try to point to reliable Irish sources, like gov.ie, seai.ie and citizensinformation.ie, and aim to keep things current. It is always worth checking the original source for the latest details.
Kept up to date
Grant amounts, scheme rules and thresholds can change throughout the year. We aim to revisit articles when that happens and keep the information as current as we can.
Who is behind Vengie?
An independent Irish consumer guide with no financial agenda
After more than 22 years living in Ireland, you’d think it would be easy to find straight answers about things like energy grants, home costs, or what you’re actually entitled to claim. It’s not. Most of what turns up online is written for somewhere else entirely, full of estate agent spin, or just not very useful.
That’s what got me started on Vengie. I’m Gary Moran, and this is my attempt to create something actually worth reading – a straightforward, no-nonsense guide for people living in Ireland. No ads. No sponsored content. No company pays to get a mention. Just honest information, checked against official Irish sources, and written for people who actually live here.
Hopefully, you’ll find it useful.
